     Nearest commercial aviation facility, the Asheville Regional Airport is almost 60 miles from Marion (about a 70 minute drive). Situated on the Buncombe-Henderson County boundary, this full-service commercial airport is at exit 40 of Interstate 26.

  • I-40 connects I-15 in southern California with Wilmington NC. Entering North Carolina at the Pigeon River Gorge, it connects Haywood County with Buncombe and McDowell Counties continuing through Greensboro, Raleigh and terminating at the Atlantic Ocean at Wilmington NC.
