Boat Ramps

NOTE: the following ramp is in the Lake Fontana area

• Cable Cove Boat Ramp
     From the junction of NC-28 and NC-143 at Stecoah, follow NC-28 west about 8 miles to Cable Cove Rd (Road 1287). Turn right onto Cable Cove Rd and follow it about 1½ miles to the end of road and the ramp .

NOTE: the following ramps are in the Santeetlah Lake area

• Avery Creek, Santeetlah Lake
     11 miles west of Robbinsville. Turn left on Forest Service Road approximately 5 miles to area. (Note: we don't know from personal; experience where this one is. This is all we were given in the way of directions.)

• Ranger Station, Santeetlah Lake
     Continue north from Robbinsville on US-129 to SR-1116 (it is just beyond the town limits. Turn left and follow it to SR-1127. Turn right and follow SR-1127 to the Ranger Station ramp (about 3 more miles).

Marinas

• Santeetlah Marina

     We have been informed that the Santeetlah Marina is the only marina in this area. Actually in the town of Santeetlah Lake (see map), it is only about 7 miles north of Robbinsville (just off US-129) on Thunderbird Mountain Road.
     Fishing in Santeetlah Lake is excellent. Bass is the most common catch. Fishing requires a North Carolina license (available at the marina).
     The last time we checked we were told the the marina will be open seven days a week April through October.
